Day 3 Itinerary
- Checked out of Dandy Hotel
- Taichung (台中)
- Checked in LeParker Hotel
- FengJia Night market (逢甲夜市)
Second day breakfast at Dandy. Simple veg version
After breakfast, we checked out from Dandy hotel. We will be travelling to Taichung to stay for one night there and then the next 2 days we will be staying at Cingjing.
As we have luggages to lug along, we took a cab to Taipei station. It wasn’t too costly. From Tianmu to Taipei station, the cost is about SGD 12++
At Taipei station, we spotted unusually long q at a cheesecake shop, we decided to join the Q..
Freshly baked cheesecake. We later realised that we can actually just buy direct w/o joining the main Q for the cheesecakes that was baked from their main kitchen instead of those freshly baked in-house. We saw one staff pushing the bakery trolley with the baked cheesecakes on them and people started to buy direct, no need to Q up! We assumed that it was baked maybe at their main kitchen somewhere else instead.
Before boarding the High Speed Rail (HSR/台灣高速鐵路, in short 台鐵) to Taichung (台中), we went to buy our railway bento (台鉄便當) ! Being wanting to do this for a long time. And the great news is they do sell veg bento! Yippee!!
Our high speed rail (HSR) tickets
Our lunch + drinks. Very comforting food with a comfortable train ride. High speed rail is one of the best way to travel!
When we reached Taichung station, we found out that we could take the bus to Fengjia university stop. With our HSR tickets, the bus ride will be free. So nice ~~~ So don’t throw your tickets away :P
We checked in Le Parker hotel based on what we read from a blog. From the website, the photo of the hotel looks really nice. But when we reached the hotel, we were quite disappointed with hotel and the hotel room. The room looks old and tired. It definitely needs renovation and get updated soon!
We slightly unpacked our luggage and went out again. Our main purpose in Taichung - Fengjia night market (逢甲夜市)!!
Good thing the hotel is within walking distance of the night market. The only advantage actually.
Stayreal boutique at Taichung!
We bought a veg ‘onigiri’ to try out. The lady grilling the onigiri is quite patience. Slow and steady :)
Taste quite good. I like the slight crisp layer outside
We stumbled on Koi bubble tea shop. They have different name in Taiwan. But strangely later on, we also spotted another bubble tea shop called ‘Koi’ instead of the chinese version. I might research on this later on to verify (if I can remember :P)
Ji Dan Gao in varies cute vintage shapes
First time trying Tang Hu Lu. The boss of this stall might have charged us higher price knowing we are tourist. Just take note when buying. We didn’t see any price listed as well.
Long Q at the sweet potato balls stall.
Yummy! We manage to buy the sweet potato balls when the Q is reasonably manageable. I want to eat this again!
Cute bottle packaging
Some stuff we bought back. We are highly self controlled when it comes to shopping :P
We headed back to the hotel after walking around for about 3 hours
