Day 1 Itinerary
- Singapore -> Taipei
- Checked in Dandy Hotel
- Ximending 西門町
Lunch served on board Singapore Airline flight
Our flight landed at around 5 pm. We immediately went to buy sim card for NT800. 10 day unlimited data plan + 1 hour talk time. The shop is just outside of the arrival hall on the left.
As our Dandy Hotel at Tianmu requires a few public transport transfers, we have pre-booked the hotel transfer prior to the trip.
This hotel is highly rated on TripAdvisor and has nice, modern design. The room size is smaller than I have expected but it’s clean and functional. 
After resting for a while, we ventured out and took bus number 220 (902/612 will reach there too) to Jiantan station (劍潭站).
We bought Yoyo card (NT 200) from Jiantan station. 
From JianTan station, we took train to XiMen station (西門站) to walk around at Ximending (西門町).
We randomly picked this place, ‘Pasta Bar’ for dinner. The food is frankly mediocre. I’m not sure if this is ‘one-off’ mediocre or if it’s because I was a little tired after all the travelling :P

After dinner, we walked around for a while and headed back to the hotel to rest for the night.
Unsure of the nearest hotel bus stop, we alighted too early and had to walk 3 stops back to the hotel! :/ Oops..
