National Gallery of Victoria (NGV International)

Day 3 of crazy scorching 43-45 deg in Melbourne. We decided to go to the NGV to avoid the heat. Even a short walk to the tram stop and walking to the NGV proof torturing :S We were so so happy to enjoy the aircon at NGV after the struggle to reach there. Luckily it's just 3 tram stop from our apartment.

Andy Warhol's chicken n' dumplings. i'm sure many are wondering what's with can soup and art.. :P Apparently it was a shock to many when Andy Warhol uses everyday subject as work of art

one of the 14 sculptures based on a dance drama, Sail the Midnight Sun.

Papua New Guinea mask

The Maori people make figures of their ancestor

Chicomecoatl, goddess of rice maize. Their status looks nice :)

Colorful roof at the NGV

Portion of an Indian temple

I love the european painting at the NGV!! And the best part? The visit is FREE!!! Why can't we have free entry in Singapore?? That would encourage people to enjoy art as it should be.

See how huge some of the painting are! Very impressive display

another perspective of the amazing collection

Some kids taking shot at the NGV entrance. Good thing we came early. The place started to get crowded at late noon
